Listed below are department head positions currently available for seasonal employment at Beech Mountain Resort:
Group Sales Manager
The Group Sales Manager works hand in hand with all the groups that come to Beech Mountain Resort to ensure they have the very best experience possible. The responsibilities of the Group Sales Manager include booking groups and helping them plan their trip. Coordinating with other departments and clear communication as to how many and how large the groups coming in will be. The Group Sales Manager will forecast for the coming weekend in terms of customer traffic as well as assist with events and online sales. The right candidate for this position is proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, organized, punctual, with strong communication skills.
The manager of the Beech Tree will be responsible for staffing the front of the house including servers, hostesses, and bar tenders and providing training for all staff including ALE education prior to opening. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of Beech Mountain Resort’s policies and procedures, and will participate in achieving our revenue objectives. The Restaurant Manager will ensure that staff remain compliant with all local, state and federal laws, and that customers’ needs are promptly met. Other duties of the Beech Tree Bar and Grill Manager include ordering and inventorying supplies. As the Beech Tree has weekly events, the manager will also be responsible for helping in the development and execution of events in the venue. The right candidate for this position has strong leadership skills and is organized. Events and or restaurant experience is a plus but not required. Strong communications skills are important. The right candidate must be willing to build a good working relationship with the chef and kitchen staff.
The tap room manager will be responsible for all front-end operations of the Brewing Co. including hiring bar staff, all invoicing and clerical work for the brewery, ordering supplies, making sure the tap room is clean and sanitary at all times, aiding with communication with vendors and helping with events that take place in the brewery. The right candidate for this job must have strong communication and leadership skills. Prior experience in restaurant/bartending preferred but not required.
The Nursery Manager will be expected to provide high quality, flexible childcare for families visiting the resort. The Nursery Manager will oversee the operation of the nursery to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible environment and care are provided for the children. The responsibilities of the Nursery Manager include hiring staff, all clerical work for the nursery including scheduling and ordering supplies. Previous child care experience is required.
Tubing Hill Manager
The tubing hill manager is responsible for staffing and maintaining a schedule for the tubing hill staff. The main duties of the tubing hill manager include loading/unloading of conveyor lift, sending of guest down the tubing lanes and expediting those guests when they reach the bottom of the hill. Other job duties of the position include, but are not limited to providing instruction and exceptional guest service, greet every guest in a positive manner, providing information about Beech Mountain Resort and its facilities, maintaining a safe work environment, maintenance of snow tubing area, shoveling and racking snow in and around the magic carpet and in the tubing lanes, and adhering to departmental and company policies and procedures as designated by management
Beech Mountain Resort seeks applicants for a full and a part-time Security Officers. This position strives to maintain a safe and secure environment for the patrons and employees of the resort area through systematic monitoring of the grounds and buildings. Major duties include: Patrolling, checking for fire and safety hazards, investigating unusual activities and preparing reports and logs as required. Qualifications include: High school diploma, clean criminal background, valid NC driver’s license, ability to tactfully enforce rules and regulations. Security and/or law enforcement experience preferred. Nights, weekends, and holiday shifts involved.
