Beech Mountain Resort is seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Lift Mechanic. The Lift Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of all lift equipment during winter and summer. This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections and pre-operational tests on lift equipment
- Maintain and repair lift equipment according to safety codes and manufacturer guidelines
- Complete maintenance logs and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Monitor equipment and address any mechanical issues
- Provide training and guidance to lift attendants and operators
- Assist with lift setup, teardown, and general maintenance
- Communicate safety issues to supervisors and staff
- Assist other departments as needed with lift operations
Requirements or Qualifications:
- Knowledge of lift operations and maintenance preferred
- Ability to ski or snowboard (mountain biking experience is a plus)
- Work in adverse weather conditions (cold, snow, wind, rain)
- Ability to operate ski lifts, ATVs, and snowmobiles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- Four-wheel drive/AWD/snow chains required
