Beech Mountain Resort is looking for a Night Time Lift Operations Supervisor for winter 2024/2025. Candidates should enjoy working outdoors and be team and customer-oriented. The Lift Operations Supervisor performs nighttime duties while supporting the team. The Lift Operations Supervisor focuses on safety, guest service, and Team Member support. Our Night Time Lifts Operations Manager works with other management and team employees to facilitate the effective operation of the Lift Department. Assists with interdepartmental cooperation to enhance mountain operations by overseeing all lift and activity operation crews. Previous experience preferred.

The Snowmaking Operations Lead will provide direction, leadership, and expertise to the Beech Mountain Resort Snowmaking department. This individual will lead the training and management of snowmakers and oversee winter snowmaking operations as well as summer maintenance and construction projects. They must also problem-solve to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

During the non-operating months, this position will include equipment repair and installation, slope maintenance, general facility upkeep, and manual labor.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and direct personnel.
  • Reliably complete payroll and administrative duties.
  • Train and supervise snowmakers on the mountain.
  • Manage and schedule system maintenance projects.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with internal and external customers.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve automated snowmaking and control systems.

The Snowmaking Department is responsible for the overall production and upkeep of on-hill snow operations. This position requires an active individual who is capable of working in an outdoor mountain environment. Job duties will include indoor and outdoor projects in extreme weather conditions. During the winter season, this position will be part of the day-to-day snowmaking operation and staff. Responsibilities include slope preparation and repair, equipment management, and strategic planning. The operation will focus on time management, efficiency, and production. This role is critical for understanding and maximizing the department’s production capabilities.

The Ticket Sales Manager at Beech Mountain Resort plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Ticketing/Cash Control Department. This position is responsible for reconciling cash bags and ticket windows daily, tracking ticket stock, and addressing any issues related to ticketing and point-of-sale systems. The Ticket Sales Manager is also involved in the hiring process for the department and must be adept at identifying and resolving any operational challenges. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, proficient in handling cash, and an effective problem solver. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile all cash bags and enter accurate cash counts on the Income Summary Sheet.
  • Reconcile all ticket windows and ensure ticket stock matches tickets sold.
  • Conduct preliminary ticket counts, tracking the quantity sold of each ticket type.
  • Replace income sheets and check bags; request Clover paper or other POS materials as needed.
  • Schedule staff for the Ticketing Department and ensure attendance.
  • Cover all department operational needs.
  • Follow up on hiring/applicants for the Ticketing Department.
  • Perform vault counts and update the vault count sheet.
  • Organize the vault, ensuring all monies are uniform and adjusted in the drawer.
  • Handle change orders if needed.
  • Identify and fix ticketing issues; update the Central Ticketing System as needed.

Beech Mountain Resort is seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Lift Mechanic. A Lift Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of lift equipment in both winter and summer. This position ensures the safe and efficient operation of all Beech Mountain Resort lifts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Following ANSI B-77 codes, manufacturer requirements, federal and state regulations, and insurance requirements.
  • Performing all prescribed maintenance on all lift equipment.
  • Completing all required maintenance logs and records.
  • Performing daily pre-operational tests and inspections on all lift equipment.
  • Monitoring and testing equipment regularly.
  • Performing daily inspections of lift equipment.
  • Conducting accurate daily checks of all machinery, engines, motors, coupling/uncoupling points, and other critical areas.
  • Offering continual training and assistance on standard operational and safety practices to lift attendants, lead lift operators, scanners, and tubing attendants.
  • Referring to equipment technical manuals to ensure proper procedures are followed and correct settings are maintained.
  • Notifying Supervisor of any condition or occurrence that may adversely affect safety operations or the guest experience.
  • Observing lift operations to ensure guests are safely loading and unloading.
