Runs for Buns 2024

Join us for Runs for Buns 2024 – a fantastic event returning to support the Colon Cancer Coalition. Our goal this year is to raise $100,000. Whether you’re an individual or part of a team, sign up and hit the slopes for a cause. For just a $10 entry fee, you can ski or snowboard, and discounted tickets are available. Season pass holders only need to cover the entry fee. All participants will receive an RFID card, and gate passes through Lift 5 will be tallied between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Click HERE to register you and/or your team!

Lift Ticket Discounts:

All participants can purchase lift tickets at the discounted group rate. For more information on our group rates page.

All Watauga and Avery County students and teachers, as well as healthcare workers, who participate can purchase tickets for $10. All the proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the Colon Cancer Coalition.

Virtual Auction:

Don’t want to ski or board? No problem! You can still fundraise. Our VIRTUAL AUCTION begins March 1 and ends March 9. All proceeds from this auction benefit the Colon Cancer Coalition and feature high-ticket, local, and nonlocal items. Click HERE to begin previewing items. Bid high and bid often!

We’re recognizing achievements with prizes for the most ski runs, the most snowboard runs, the most spirited team, and the top fundraising team. Join us for a day of fun, giveaways, laughter, and, most importantly, raising awareness for the second most deadly cancer in the world.

An Evening With The Steep Canyon Rangers; The Not So Gala Gala

Beech Mountain Resort’s Runs for Buns, an annual fundraiser benefitting the Colon Cancer Coalition, expands in 2024 with an evening of music featuring The Steep Canyon Rangers.
The Rangers perform at the inaugural Not So Gala, Gala on Friday evening March 8, kicking off a weekend in which skiers and snowboarders hit the slopes on Saturday, March 9, to raise funds and awareness to defeat colon cancer. Multiple opportunities exist for non-skiers to be involved, too.
The Not So Gala, Gala brings an intimate music experience to Beech Mountain Brewing Company, minus the fancy clothing of a typical gala.

Gala general admission tickets are $75 in advance, and VIP tickets are $150. VIP tickets include early access, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and exclusive access to the Red Baron Room and bar.
