The weather looks perfect for a weekend adventure on Beech Mountain!
Start your weekend off with a visit from Dorothy and a delightful tour through the Land of Oz.
Each Friday in June, Beech Mountain Resort will be base camp for tours of the historic Land of Oz park. These tours are open to the public as part of June Family Fun Month in Beech Mountain.
There are three tours each Friday. The first begins with a chairlift ride at 12:00 p.m., the second begins with a chairlift ride at 1:15 p.m. and the third begins with a chairlift ride at 2:45 p.m.
After taking the chairlift to the top of the mountain, you will be greeted by Dorothy, who will lead the group on a tour of a small Oz museum, a tour of Dorothy’s House and a nostalgic stroll down the Yellow Brick Road. The total time for each tour, including chairlift rides, is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
The cost is $10 per person for the chairlift ride and $10 per person for the guided tour of Oz. Cash or checks only; no credit cards.
There is a limit of 60 people per tour. Children must be at least 36 inches tall to participate. Please arrive at Beech Mountain Resort at least 15 minutes prior to the chairlift departure time.
