Renovations, Upgrades, and More!

Beech Mountain Resort is working hard to make the upcoming season one of the best winter experiences in the High County of northwestern North Carolina. The resort is the highest ski area east of the Rockies, and continually reaches for new heights in customer satisfaction.

The summer has been a busy time of upgrades, improvements, renovations and new amenities. For the 2015-2016 season, this means a new state-of-the-art snowtubing park, a completely renovated Beech Tree Bar and Grille, 14 additional high-tech snow guns, and significant improvements to our high-speed quad lift and the other ski lifts.

Snowmaking

Beech Mountain continues to emphasize its product, OUR SNOW, with an investment in 14 new SMI Super Polecat snow guns. This addition will greatly enhance the conditions around the resort.

Beech Tree Bar and Grille

The Beech Tree Bar and Grille, originally constructed in the late 60s, got a fresh facelift with a new interior remodel. Patrons will notice additional HD televisions on which to watch their favorite sporting event, a large projector screen, and the re-opening of the balcony bar.

The Red Baron Room

A private club, the Red Baron Room, opened in January of 1970. Members enjoyed authentically decorated World War 1 flying memorabilia dedicated to the German flying ace Baron von Richthofen, known as the Red Baron. The Red Baron Bar has been remodeled and will now be open for private members. Individual memberships start at $100, and family memberships are just $175. The bar features a replica of a 1917 French bar, with oak flooring.

New Tubing Park

Tubing is back and better than ever. The new tubing run located adjacent to the ice skating rink, in the resort village, provides over 700 feet of fun. With multiple lanes and a new carpet conveyor, this popular snow sport amenity will be sure to please. This is the largest tubing facility Beech Mountain has had to date. The new location, with adjacent new restrooms, will be hugely popular.

Bald Guy Coffee moves locations

Bald Guy Brew Coffee is back with a new location. The new coffee shop, providing specialty drinks and espresso, will be located in the Resort Village, next to the ticket booth.

New Head Brewer

Beech Mountain Resort has hired a new head brewer, Billy Smith, a NY native and graduate of Lees-McRae College. His dedication and creativity have proved successful with a third place medal for the Beech Blond Ale at the North Carolina State Fair.

In addition to all the many improvements, patrons will notice new stairs and renovated restrooms around the resort. New Burton snowboard rentals have been introduced to the fleet and Beech Mountain will be offering FREE (eight years and older), beginner lessons Monday-Thursday, non holiday with the purchase of rental equipment.
