Join Coach Kathi Krause from Dirt Rock n Root Training LLC and assistant Coach Christina Faust at Beech Mountain for a women’s weekend of downhill skills and fun. Taking place August 21st and 22nd, we’ll offer four different sessions to help build your confidence riding the mountain. Sign up for as many of these sessions as you like – take just one, or take all four.

Each session cost $75 and attendees will receive a discounted lift ticket rate of $30 per day. Click HERE to register.

Saturday 10:00 – 12:30
Foundations of Downhill – DH101
This is our introductory course for beginner riders and riders new to riding lift-served downhill. You’ll learn basic body positions and how to move around on your bike in different situations, braking techniques for a safe ride down the mountain, and an introduction to cornering. While this is geared towards beginner riders, everyone can benefit from a refresher of these foundational skills.

Saturday 1:30 – 4
Intro to Lifts and drops
This session is about getting our wheels off the ground. We/’ll start with different types of front wheel lifts, progress to rear wheel lifts, and finally get both those wheels off the ground. We’ll discuss when it’s appropriate to use the different lifts and then practice a variety of drops. These skills will also prepare you for working on jumps.

Sunday
Cornering – Mastering your Turns- 10 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m.
This session focuses on both bermed turns and flat corners that will help you smooth out your ride down the mountain. Turning is part of every downhill run, so take advantage of learning the right techniques to get you through those turns safely.

Sunday
Intro to Jumps 1:30 – 4
When we ask people what they want to learn, they always say jumps and drops. Here’s your opportunity to get comfortable on smaller jumps. This session focuses on proper jumping technique. We’ll start by rolling over the jumps safely and progress to getting air! Wheel lifts are the key and we highly recommend participants are comfortable with their foundational skills and small drops prior to taking the jump class.

Some helpful info:
 Rider should be comfortable in a standing position on the bike (out of the saddle)

 Full-face helmet is required
 Elbow pads, knee pads and gloves are strongly suggested
