Skiing and snowboarding are inherently risky activities. Under the North Carolina Skier Safety Act, all skiers and snowboarders assume certain responsibilities while on the mountain.

Lift Safety
Children & Lift Use
- Guests are responsible for determining whether they and members of their party, including children, have the ability to safely load, ride, and unload lifts
- Young children must be able to load, ride, and unload with reasonable safety or be accompanied by a responsible adult
- Lift attendants may provide guidance but are not responsible for lifting or physically assisting guests on or off lifts
- Guests who are unsure of their ability should seek alternative terrain or assistance prior to loading

- Ski bikes or snow scooters
- Snow skates or snow surfers
- Cross-country skis
- Fat tire bikes
- Tandem devices
- Any equipment deemed unsafe by resort staff
Helmet Use
- Helmets are strongly recommended
- Helmets do not prevent all injuries
- Guests must remain in control at all times
Freestyle Terrain
- Inspect features before use
- Start small and progress responsibly
- Know your ability level
- Use of freestyle terrain is at your own risk
