Beech Mountain Resort is seeking hardworking and skilled Bike Park Trail Crew members to join our team. As part of the crew, you will contribute to the construction, maintenance, and safety of the trails and features within the Beech Mountain Bike Park. This position offers a unique opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, ensuring that the trail system is in top shape for riders to enjoy.
Responsibilities:
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment (shovels, chainsaws, ATVs, etc.)
- Monitor bike park areas for potential hazards like downed trees, damaged signage, or trail erosion
- Inspect and maintain tools and equipment regularly to ensure safety and productivity
- Conduct trail building and maintenance to professional standards for stability and sustainability
- Build and maintain go-arounds for significant features on blue, black, and double black diamond trails
- Ensure trails are aesthetically finished, including clearing debris and seeding disturbed areas
- Install proper signage on new trails and features before opening
- Obtain approval from the mountain manager for new or redesigned trails before public opening
- Communicate with bike patrol and coordinate trail maintenance or repairs as needed
- Manage water drainage on trails using pipes, culverts, ditches, and sustainable designs
- Assist with bike park events as required
Requirements or Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge and experience with trail building, maintenance, and sustainability
- Proficiency in operating a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Physical ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials
- Passion for mountain biking and outdoor recreation
