Director of Snowsports

The Snowsports Director is responsible for the overall quality of the guest and employee experience within all programs of the Snowsports School.  The position will develop, implement, and improve programs that are guest oriented and profitable for the Snowsports School, its’ instructors, and Beech Mountain Resort. The Snowsports Director is also responsible for the oversight of the general look and feel of Beech Mountain Snowsports School.  The position answers directly to the general manager and is expected to fulfill the company’s vision for successful operations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Oversee the supervisors coaching, mentoring, and appraisals of instructors
Supervise the Snowsports School administration in the seamless and professional booking and sales of private and group lessons
Development/Training and supervision of ski and snowboard instructors while monitoring the effectiveness of that training
Monitor and or assist with work schedules for ski and snowboard instructors, and indoor administrative operations
Maintain a professional work space and adhere to all company guidelines and procedures

Snowsports Administration:

Supervise line-up and instruction
Meet, greet, and facilitate guest/instructor interaction both inside and outside the meeting area
Be a role model and mentor to ski and snowboard instructors, administration, and customer service support by demonstrating core values, and outstanding guest/employee services
Model, lead, and support safety programs
Stay current with guest and employee health and safety regulations, child care guidelines, and emergency evacuation procedures
Communicate professionally and courteously with guests and employees in person, through email, and over the phone
Maintain a minimum of level II or III PSIA or AASI certification
Maintain written logs, reports, timesheets, and checklists
Initiate and/or approve any departmental purchases
Insure departmental compliance with the employee handbook and Beech Mountain procedures including appearance, dress code, and behavioral standards
Assist with and monitor the payroll process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of instructor compensation
Review snowsports school related accidents and ensure that all documentation have been properly processed and proactive prevention actions are established
Promptly handle problems and complaints that arise during day-to-day operation of all snowsports programs
Successfully mediate emotionally charged situations with employees and guests
Coordinate and cooperate with other departments
Serve as a ski or snowboard instructor as needed
Order, maintain and issue uniforms
Maintain and inventory ski equipment
Become an active participant with administration of regularly scheduled day & night groups
PSIA/AASI ski or snowboard certification – Level II or higher
Must be: An excellent skier with technical knowledge of skiing/snowboarding and snowsports safety

Minimum Qualifications

Able to work long and irregular hours including weekends and holidays
Able to qualify as a ski/snowboard instructor
Must have: Superior interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Understanding of business principles and efficient organizational skills
Must be experienced using: PC Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Oulook
Must promote a drug-free workplace, will be subject to drug screening and/or background check
While performing the duties of this job, the position is required to navigate a high mountain environment on varied terrain in demanding winter weather conditions
Stand for an extended period of time
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities requires depth perception and ability to spend a significant amount of time working on paperwork and computer screens
Exert force by pushing & pulling items

Group Sales Manager

The Group Sales Manager works hand in hand with all the groups to ensure they have the very best experience possible. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, punctual and dependable. Strong communication skills are required for success in this position. This position is seasonal and requires mandatory weekend hours.


Oversees all group reservations for the winter season
Helps groups plan their trip
Coordinating with other departments for groups’ needs; forecast weekend customer traffic
Assist with events and online sales
Grow customer base by reaching new market segments or utilizing new sales channels
Manage or supervise healthy client relationships with tour operators and voucher companies
Create proposals, agreements, contracts, sales reports, and presentations
Prepare weekly sales analysis, evaluate performance vs. goals
Direct development of sales and marketing materials
Ensure operational effectiveness with Group Arrivals
Coordinate with marketing department to maximize sales opportunities with every contact
Requirements or Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong communication skills required
Four-wheel drive/AWD/snow chains preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in related fields.
1-2 years of sales experience preferred.
Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas.
Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Highly self-motivated.

Administrative Assistant

The Administration Department serves as the communication hub for the resort. Administrative Assistants provide excellent customer service to accommodate guests while administering accurate information to staff, other departments, and guests. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and reliable. Full and part-time seasonal positions will be considered.


Answering incoming calls and emails; responding to messages from customers
Providing customer service to walk-in customers
Maintaining spreadsheets & waiver filing
Perform daily functions with ticketing and pass printing systems
Communicating information across departments to ensure optimal resort operation
Other Administrative duties as assigned
Requirements or Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Administrative experience required
Experience in a Customer Service role preferred
Four wheel drive/AWD/ chains required
Beech Mountain Resort is located in an adverse weather region.  Reliable transportation in all occurrences of winter weather is required.  Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of state and federal criminal background check.
