We are looking forward to opening this winter and are committed to providing a safe experience for our patrons. We have prepared thorough operational plans that put safety first, are consistent with all local regulations, and follow the North Carolina Ski Area Association’s Ski Well, Be Well best practices.
Increased Cleaning and Sanitation Practices:
We have adopted cleaning and disinfection strategies for all areas of operations, including high-touch areas such as restrooms, restaurants, dining facilities, ticketeting, ski and ride school, and rental shops. All cleaning products used will follow CDC and EPA guidance on agents which are effective against COVID-19. Read more about our sanitation system here.
Masks or face coverings are required outdoors when waiting in line, interacting with Beech Mountain Resort staff, riding, loading and unloading chairlifts, and in outdoor common areas when physical distancing is not possible. Masks are mandated at all times indoors except in food and beverage facilities while eating or drinking. Customers that are non-compliant will be asked to leave the property.
Outdoor Seating and Food Offerings:
We have carefully crafted operational plans that allow for additional seating and appropriate distancing between parties in all food and beverage facilities. Additional outdoor seating has been implemented alongside new outdoor food and beverage offerings.
Sanitation Stations for Patrons:
Hand sanitizer will be placed at key guest and employee entrances and high volume areas around the resort. Sensor faucets are available in all public restroom facilities.
A new equipment rental system is in place that offers a paperless process for renting ski and snowboard equipment. Paperless rental forms eliminate contact upon arrival, speed up the rental process, and will help reduce your direct impact on the environment.
Slope tickets, rental equipment, and youth ski and snowboard programs are now available to purchase easily online. Online purchases eliminate transaction time and contact upon arrival.
Touchless Payment Options:
Touchless payment options are available at various points of sale with the use of Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
If you arrive together, ride together. Guests will be asked to self-group and load the chair with their traveling party. Lift attendants will not require guests to ride a chairlift with people they do not know. Expect an increase in wait times while in line for the chairlift.
Reduced Ski and Ride School Capacity:
All youth ski and snowboard programs will require masks during all lessons and with instructor interaction. Capacity is now limited, and online reservations are required. All youth programs will be limited to half-day offerings to help maintain capacity constraints. Temperature checks will be implemented upon entry to all programs.
One Way Traffic Areas:
One way traffic areas will be implemented in various places around the resort to further eliminate contact between guests and staff. Additional signage and floor markings are in place to help encourage social distancing and acknowledge designated waiting locations.
Appropriate safety gear is worn by all employees based on their role and responsibilities within the resort in adherence to state and local guidelines. All employees are required to wear facial coverings while on property. All Beech Mountain Resort employees will complete a daily health screening and will adhere to personal hygiene requirements.
