Beech Mountain Brewing Co.

In a collaboration that’s sure to please the palate of craft beer aficionados, Blind Squirrel Brewery has merged with Beech Mountain Brewing Co. The combined brewery, under the guidance of brewmaster Will Young, will set the standard for craft beer in the High Country. Make sure to visit the brewery, which is located in the ski village, to sample an exciting lineup of beers born from the finest ingredients and crafted with an amazing attention to detail. The brewery was completely remodeled over the summer and will no doubt be one of the resort’s most popular spots this ski season.

The newest craft brewery in Western North Carolina has opened in the Alpine Village at Beech Mountain Resort. Beech Mountain Brewing Co. has the capacity to brew up to 100 gallons per day and will be open year round to serve skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers and other resort visitors.

The brewery features three distinct ales created on-site, with consulting from award-winning brewer Will Young of Blind Squirrel in nearby Plumtree. Heading the list of beers is the 5506' Pale Ale, followed by the Cream and Scotch Ales. Patrons may purchase these high-quality craft beers by the pint or the growler. Flight tastings are also available.

"The brewery is yet another amenity added to the resort as part of our effort to become a year-round destination,” said Ryan Costin, general manager. “With the growing popularity of craft beer in North Carolina, we believe our customers will enjoy the experience."

Beech Mountain Brewing Co. is open Friday through Sunday. Please call ahead for hours of operation 1800 438 2093 x 204. Find us on Untappd

5.7% ABV

Our 5506' Pale Ale is a full-bodied American ale that's golden in color. The malty sweetness of the mash is offset by a generous amount of Magnum and Northern Brewer bittering hops. The hop bursting technique of late addition cascade hops contribute a delightful citrus/floral note that will lighten anybody's spirits. A great beer with a lot of altitude!

5.3% ABV

Our Cream Ale is a light session ale designed for afternoons that you decide you would rather sit in the lodge than boogie down the slopes. Using a Cream Ale yeast blend, it delivers a crisp, clean, easy-drinking light hybrid beer with characteristics of both an ale and a lager. The Liberty hops provide a subtle spicy/sweet aroma. Get liberated!!

8.1% ABV

This Scotch Ale is fantastic ale for cooler weather. It delivers a wonderful complexity of malty notes with balanced hop character achieved through the noble Fuggle hops. It goes down far too easily for an 8.1 % ABV beer! If you wipe out on the slopes and someone yells “Yard Sale”, this ale might be to blame.
