USASA Southeastern Series
January 7, 2017
This winter season USASA presents the Southeastern Series, marking 2016 – 2017 as the regions first year! This event is a slopestyle freeski and snowboard competition for all ages that will take place in the Beech Mountain Resort new terrain park.
Former amateur surf coach Chuck Allen incorporates the United States Amateur Snowboarding Association (USASA) in July of 1988 with a $500 donation from Transworld SNOWboarding Magazine. USASA is the first governing body exclusively for competitive grassroots snowboarding. The organizers believed that by forming a national association for snowboard competitors, rules of competition could be standardized, an annual national championship event could be established, and the recreation and fun of this rapidly growing sport could be preserved and flourish.
All competitors who compete in a USASA sanctioned event must be current members of the USASA. Memberships are available online (recommended) or at the event. Members can compete in any event outside of their home series to accumulate National Ranking points but cannot win the Regional Championship outside of their home series. For a complete list of official USASA rules or to purchase a membership, visit the USASA website.
