Beech Mountain received its first big snowfall with an accumulation of eight inches. The town of Beech Mountain and the Department of Transportation will clear the roads to maintain safe travel for our patrons. Beech Mountain Resort is open today for skiing, snowboarding, ice skating and tubing.

Each January, Beech Mountain Resort hosts the Winterfest Beer Festival the first Saturday after New Year’s Day. The 2017 edition takes place Jan. 7 and fills both levels of the Beech Tree Bar & Grille with more than 50 ales and ciders from North Carolina craft breweries and cideries. It’s a fun and festive way to celebrate winter in North Carolina’s coolest town.
In addition to great brews, the festival features live music on the main stage from two notable performers: Zach Deputy and Super Reggae Man.
Hours for the Winterfest Beer Festival are 4-8 p.m. and plenty of water stations and pour buckets are located throughout the facility. Beech Mountain Resort operates a free shuttle bus to all Beech Mountain hotels, to provide safe transportation to and from the event.
The festival venue – Beech Tree Bar & Grille – is located in the alpine village at the base of the slopes at Beech Mountain Resort. A lift ticket is not required to attend the festival, and attendees can take advantage of the shops and dining options in the village. Beech Mountain Brewing Company, the resort’s craft brewery, is located next door to the Beech Tree.

The Festival:
The third annual Winterfest Beer Festival offers an opportunity to sample and learn about a variety of craft beer styles from North Carolina’s premier breweries. The festival serves as a fundraiser for the Beech Mountain Ski Education Foundation.
The Winterfest Beer Festival strongly encourages responsible drinking and urges patrons to take advantage of our free shuttle bus.

The participating breweries were hand selected to best represent the beer of North Carolina. Breweries from all over Western North Carolina will join with over 50 varieties to choose from.

ZACH DEPUTY will be performing live throughout the entire event. Zach Deputy offers a true one-man-band powerhouse of performance. Layering sounds through the magic of technology, this soulful singer and shredding guitarist captures his audience with his unique and unmatched talent. Be ready for a foot-stomping, glass raising kind of night!
Super Reggae Man
Using a looping device, Super Reggae Man creates, performs and records tunes from the ground up, on the fly, using one instrument at a time. Drum and bass grooves combine with guitar and keyboard rhythms, vocal harmonies and soothing horn parts, to create a unique musical experience.
