Fireworks, Music and Food Highlight 47th Annual Roasting of the Hog on July 5

BEECH MOUNTAIN, NC – Celebrate Independence Day weekend in Eastern America’s highest town.

Beech Mountain’s 47th annual Roasting of the Hog festival takes place Saturday, July 5, in the Alpine Village at the base of the mountain bike park at Beech Mountain Resort. Activities start at 5:30 p.m. and last well into the evening.

This fun-filled event includes: live music from the High Country Boomers; slow roasted, pit-cooked barbecue pork and smoked turkey breast; all the trimmings; face painting; silent auction and a bake sale. In addition, Beech Mountain’s Parks & Recreation Department provides a kid’s play area, complete with bounce house and plenty of activities.

Fireworks begin shortly after dark. And, the resort’s new Beech Mountain Brewing Company will be open as well.

Advance tickets are $15 for ages eight and up, and $7.50 for ages seven and under. Those prices rise to $20 and $10 at the gate. Tickets are available online at www.BeechMountainChamber.com.
