Why Take a Ski or Snowboard Lesson?

-By Annebritt Birkeland

I am Annebritt Birkeland and I love ski instructing at Beech Mountain Resort! We are the highest ski resort in Eastern North America and have the only high-speed quad lift in North Carolina, which facilitates more snow time set against the backdrop of amazing views of the High Country. Our staff is a fun group of professionals who truly pursue excellence in snow sports education, from beginner through expert levels. Why ski or snowboard? It’s a BLAST!

Why take lessons? Would you attempt to drive a car for the first time without any education? Could you be successful? Maybe eventually, after frustration and probable physical injury. Lessons are the fastest path to success on the snow. First time lessons are ESSENTIAL, and I encourage every level of snow sport enthusiast to take a refresher lesson your first time on the snow at the opening of the season. Starting with the proper technique helps you progress faster.
