January is National Learn a Snowsport Month. In support of this initiative, Beech Mountain Resort is providing affordable options and opportunities to bring novices to the world of winter sports.

Beech Mountain Resort is hosting the first annual Learn to Ski Challenge. Various members of the local community and media will learn to ski at Beech Mountain Resort. Challengers include Amy Lynn of ‘Day Time Tri Cities,’ David Burleson, Superintendent of Avery County schools, and Chris Wilcox of 106.5 THE END’s ‘Woody and Wilcox Show.’ Challengers will blog about their experiences on the site.

On the website customers can take the challenge by filling out a short survey, which will provide you with coupons and discounts to learn to ski at Beech Mountain Resort. Mid-week packages start as low as $39 for a lift ticket, rentals, helmet and first time beginner lesson. By completing the survey, you will automatically be entered to win a weekend trip at Beech Mountain Resort, which includes lodging, lift tickets and beginner lessons!

Want to stay and play? No problem! Beech Mountain Resort has teamed up with the Pinnacle Inn Resort to offer Learn to Ski and Stay packages starting from $75 during the week and $105 on the weekend on a per-person basis. These packages include lodging, rental equipment, helmet, lift ticket and a first time beginner lesson.

In an effort to further promote this month, Beech Mountain Resort is partnering with SCOTT sports, Atomic Skis, and Flow Snowboards to offer a Learn to Ski Poster Contest for 3rd through 5th graders. The deadline for submissions is January 31.

Take the Challenge!

Entries will be displayed in the View Haus Cafeteria and judged by the Beech Mountain Resort Instructors. Winners can receive a beginner snowboard or ski package complete with lessons and lift tickets.
