The Town of Beech Mountain’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the first North Carolina State Championship Snowshoe Race, which will be held in Beech Mountain’s Emerald Outback on Saturday, January 7th 2012 with a start time of 1PM. Online registration for the race is now available at www.prerace.com. Please know that by registering online, a donation of $1 will be made to the United Stated Snowshoe Association.
This year’s race will feature two courses with both the 5K and 10K maps available at www.beechrecreation.org. Both race courses are set entirely in the Emerald Outback, Beech Mountain’s beautiful new multi-use trail system that boasts long range views, gorgeous forests, all of which are at the challenging elevation of over 5000 feet.
